Rarely does anyone enter the world of literature at the age of twenty-four, leave the mortal world at the age of 44 and leave such a deep impression on the world of literature that new avenues open up for future posts. Parveen Shakir is one such name in the world of Urdu literature. If you look at the lives of some people, these sayings come true: What if he is young? Sharpen your emotions,

Parveen Shakir's life was similar. A candle that lit for a short time, but as long as it remained lit, its rays became brighter. The light spread far and wide. These rays of light not only influenced the coming poets but also forced the contemporary poets of Parveen Shakir to choose the subject which was not yet banned in Urdu poetry but was considered out of reach of poetry. The first book 'Khushbo' was published in 1976, and the cover was made by the famous artist Sadiqin Sahib. Seeing this, Faiz Ahmed Faiz smiled and said, "I have recited so many poems in my life." Sadiqin Sahib replied, "Parveen Shakir says more but says good."

Ali Sardar Jafari has recorded Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi's views on Parveen Shakir's poetry in an article in the June-December 1977 talk issue. "She neither deceives herself nor hides anything from her reader. He has created an amazing culture of love. Parveen has raised this issue and turned its orthodoxy into innovation. If Parveen Shakir is read, then this criticism is valid. I don't have much attachment to love poetry. There has been so much movement of poets on this path that thoughts seem blurred in the dust.

Nowadays, if you search the books of poets, you will find only one and a half verses in which there is the freshness of thought or innovation of words. Planting innovation in this desert is a very difficult task because whatever you write, it either feels like nothing in front of the words of the teachers or the shadow of their words. Parveen Shakir is usually a love poet and I think it was difficult for a flower of new colors to bloom in the desert, so if her path had not been separated, she too would have been lost in the crowd of poets.

The genre of ghazal in Urdu poetry is meant to speak (of women) of love and affection, but men seem to be in control of the whole love poetry. It would not be wrong to say that the whole of Urdu poetry has been dominated by men, but in particular, it seems that for many centuries love poetry was dominated by masculine expressions of love. The views expressed by the women were also masculine. In more or less the old times, poets also maintained the same ritual. Parveen Shakir is the first poetess to wield such a hammer on this ritual that it stunned the readers. For the first time, poets realized that poetry could be done in this way. Reflecting a woman's emotions, honestly, can be the subject of poems and lyric poems.
